Lord make me ready

Not just for battles or war,

But for the quiet calm and steady

Beat of a life well lived and more.

For my days are not a battle won

Against enemies and adversaries,

But perseverance in the Son

In peace and quiet, toil and ease.

For I do not fight but to submit,

My enemy not but sin,

A struggle wherein I must commit

To Him all that is within.

And in the quiet He will speak

That Him, my heart will seek.
